AIRBUS will deliver two H125s to Chilean Navy in 2020 – including the RHOTHETA RT-600

El Comando de Aviación Naval de la Armada de Chile recibirá en 2020 los primeros dos de un total de cinco helicópteros livianos monomotor H125 adquiridos al fabricante aeronáutico Airbus Helicopters. Tal como publicó Infodefensa.com, la institución adjudicó en septiembre de 2019 a Airbus Helicopters el proyecto Gaviota que considera la adquisición de cinco aeronaves de ala rotaroria con certificación FAR 27, apoyo logístico integrado (ILS) y servicios asociados. El H125se impusó en lalicitación convocada por la Dirección de Programas, Investigación y Desarrollo de la Armada (Diprida)alAW119KxKoala presentado porLeonardo. Los nuevos aparatos, adquiridos con recursos de la Dirección General del Territorio Marítimo y de Marina Mercante (Directemar), reemplazarán a los veteranos helicópteros Bell UH-57B Jet Ranger que la institución incorporó a partir de la década de 1970 y que cumplieron su vida útil.
