Rhotheta Now Compatible with TimeZero

In the world of maritime operations, safety and efficiency are paramount. We at Rhotheta are thrilled to announce the TimeZero (TZ) Coastal Monitoring software has achieved full compatibility with Rhotheta's RT-300, RT-500-M, and RT-800 radio direction finder (RDF) systems. This integration brings an array of advanced capabilities to maritime professionals, enhancing monitoring, tracking, and emergency response at sea.

This integration opens a world of possibilities, making coastal operations safer and more efficient. One of the standout features of this integration is the real-time RDF capability. Now, maritime professionals can detect VHF signals from the Rhotheta RDF and seamlessly transmit the data to TZ to display instantly over nautical charts. Additionally, when the signal originates from a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) or a Cospas-Sarsat beacon (MOB device), TZ automatically triggers an alarm, ensuring rapid response to potential emergencies.

Integration of existing Rhotheta's RDF systems is surprisingly simple. Users connect their RDF to TZ using a Serial COM port or through UDP or TCP ports. The built-in Connection Wizard streamlines the process, allowing users to manually add an input port and select the appropriate connection type.

TZ Coastal Monitoring software has customization options to tailor the display to their preferences. For instance, users can adjust the color of DF bearings and the bearing timeout. These clever features help keep nautical charts uncluttered and ensures that users are always focused on the most critical information.

Speed of response to maritime distress signals can be a matter of life and death. When a PLB or Cospas-Sarsat signal is received, TZ immediately displays the DF bearing in red, signaling a potential emergency. This feature ensures maritime professionals can react swiftly and decisively, potentially saving lives in the process.

For those utilizing the Remote Architecture feature in TZ, users can combine multiple stations and RDF systems. By connecting multiple RDF systems (one per station) and combining them onto the TZ Remote computer, users can efficiently monitor larger areas. If the received DF bearings are from a PLB or Cospas-Sarsat signal, TZ will automatically place an MOB mark at the intersection, helping users pinpoint the distress signal's source.
