The Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution (KNRM) is a registered charity that saves lives at sea and in coastal waters in the Netherlands. The KNRM is a foundation supported entirely by voluntary contributions, inheritances and legacies. The foundation receives no financial support from the government.
Lifeboat crew members are professionally trained volunteers who are available 24 hours a day.
