The last search and rescue training session at Paris-Charles De Gaulle Airport (France) on May 16, 2024, was a great success. An emergency locator transmitter was hidden about 15 kilometers east of the airport in the countryside.

Two fire trucks, equipped with Rhotheta RT-400 Doppler Radio Direction Finder (RDF), were deployed near the airport to locate the simulated crash site as quickly as possible. Finding the beacon took just 37 minutes, which is nearly the same amount of time required to equip the vehicles and drive them to the accident site.

This success is largely due to the RT-400 RDF. This technological advancement has allowed us to cut the response time by half compared to pre-2019 with the previous generation of portable RDF.
